Understanding things like how the government works, civic and
constitutional rights, and how to stay involved in the government
and/or community. It is also about learning how to appreciate
things like free speech and engaging with people who have
different opinions from one's own. It includes things like
American citizenship, political process, roots of democracy,
limited government, the branches of the government, and
state and local government. In the future, Civics
Education should be extended to learning current events.

American democracy. Learning this at a young age allows

People will be able to understand what is happening in
the political world and they will learn to properly

Why Should Congress Spend More Money on Civics Education?
How Should the Money Be Used?
01:12
Congress should spend more money on civic education because many people do
not know how their own government works. More students will be able to learn about
their government and country, and how to stay involved when
they are older. With the money from Congress, state and local
governments should change their curriculums to make sure
that all students have Civics Education. They should also
make sure that schools all get the resources they
need to give the students a good Civics Education.
